How to change a wp blog header
How to Change a WP Blog Header</h2>
Sorry this took a while. First I had a computer problem, then I updated to wp version 3.5.1 and couldn’t edit any posts. I searched the WordPress forum for an aswere but no help there. Just this minute I tried something I though might work and it did. I deactivated all the plugins and then re-loaded WordPress and here I am. So I will publish this and activate the plugins again and see if the bug has gone.
As I said in my last post since I changed the theme I would have to change the header.
The header in your blog is found in your wp-content/themes folder and obviously it is called header.jpg. in most themes.
What I did was make a new wp blog header and simply load it back into wp-content/themes over the existing wp blog header of which I have kept a copy.
Since this theme has a slideshow header you will see a different header each time you refresh or visit the site.
You will see in my case that the header does not fit the area and I purposely gave it a black background. If I get time later I will re-do the header in Photoshop to fit the area.
So if you want to change the header on your blog you have to first of all find the size of the header that is already in the blog you can do this by downloading it via FTP
to a folder or your desktop. Then import it into Photoshop or some such image editing
software. The image artwork is in the wp-content/themes folder the link will look like this
yourblog/wp-content/themes/thenameofyourthemes/images/header.jpg.
When you finish editing the image give it the same name as the original image
that you downloaded from the blog and upload via ftp back to the same folder.
Until next time.
